Swarovski Crystal Palace at The Salone del Mobile Milan 2004


In its third year, Swarovski Crystal Palace worked with leading designers and artists from all over the world to exploit the beauty and the technical possibilities of Swarovski crystal. Their mandate was that of reinventing the chandelier; their means, Swarovski’s entire components collection, inexhaustible material knowledge and technical expertise. Fourteen designers presented ten brilliant solutions, each one a personal and innovative interpretation of the theme. It was presented at the Fendi warehouse in Via Sciesa, and installed under the art direction of Ferruccio Laviani the renowned Milanese architect and product designer. The designers were Ron Arad, Barber Osgerby, Yves Bèhar, Tord Boontje, Constantin and Laurene Boym, David Collins and Chris Levine, Matali Crasset, Ben Jakober and Yannick Vu, Jeff Latham and Ingo Maurer.
