Swarovski Crystal Palace, Paris 2003
Swarovski lit up the City of Light with its scintillating exhibition of Crystal Palace chandeliers during Couture week at the historic Musee Carnavelet, in the Marais district. In Paris the chandeliers were installed in the stately courtyard of the Musee Carnavelet, which created an intriguing juxtaposition of classical l9th century architecture with the dynamic, innovative designs in Swarovski crystal. It made a powerful statement both about the traditions and today’s reinvention of the chandelier.
The Paris showing welcomed new additions to the Crystal Palace collection: Tom Dixon’s ‘Ball’ and Michael Anastassiades’ ‘Tulsa 1’ and ‘Tulsa 2’, as well as showcasing the original collection launched at the Milan Salone del Mobile in 2002.
